Happy Birthday!

Sophie turned 11 on June 24th. We celebrated at my parents' house, with swimming, ribs, homemade rolls, and the infamous birthday torte. I am so happy to have Sophie in my life. Her birth was just as amazing as she is. I was fortunate to have two incredible midwives assisting me for what was my second homebirth. After about 6 hours of labour, Sophie was born in the caul. She has proven every step of the way that the old midwives tale of a person that is born in the caul is extrodinary and considered something of a wise spirit. Oh so true for Sophie. I love this sweet, soft-spoken girl who is so unlike me. Happy Birthday my love!

Celebrating My 36th Year

I left my camera in the car, so there were no pictures of me roller skating after a 25 year hiatus. Really. The last time I remember roller skating, I was 11. I am now 36, so that means 25 years have gone by. They didn't even play Thriller. My feet were killing me and I only lasted an hour and a half....aahh youth.

Having Coffee. Loving 36.

Alex gave me this incredible coral bracelet
Ella gave me this beautiful globe
All my bounty
A close up of my gift certificate for...can you see it...TWO massages!

Happy Father's Day

John wanted to go to another swimming hole/waterfall for Father's day. After breakfast, gifts (including Wii Ski from Alex), packing a lunch, and a 2.5 hour delay at a BP Gas station with keys locked securely in car, we headed off to this amazing place. I know, more pictures of waterfalls? I just couldn't help it. The scenery, and my family were too beautiful to pass up. Happy Father's Day, John. We love you more than anything!

Celebrating with Jesse

I'm a little late in posting these pictures of our wonderful day celebrating Jesse's 8th birthday. Notice Madeline's "halo" of lights surrounding her...I love this. She looks like a fairy!

Hanging Out At Grandma and Grandpa's

The Beautiful Bounty of Tennessee

Alex and Ella were whisked away for a week at Edisto Beach with their beloved Auntie Nina (aka John's sister). Sophie, Max, John and I decided to check out a swimming hole that was at the end of a beautiful hike. The water was cold. It was an amazing day and I am flabbergasted by the incredible beauty and bounty that we continue to discover in this really cool part of the South.

Doing What We Love

Max LOVES movement...of any kind and for any reason. He once said to me, when he was about 2-3 yrs. old, "Mommy, I can't help it, I've just got to MOVE!" Here he is in all his glory, following his passions, doing what he loves, living a fabulous life.
